QBM supplied over half a million fasteners for the new Argos distribution centre in Bedford. At 60,998m2 this was, at the time the largest building built to the revised Part L regulations and Kingspans "enhanced" robust details.

Keyclad selected the SXTP stainless steel, colour matched nylon headed composite fasteners to fix Kingspan 80mm RW panel on the roof, and stainless steel SXL2-L12 colour matched stitchers on the side laps. The vertical was made up from Kingspan KS1000RW 60mm and KS1000 MR all secured with SX stainless steel drill screws.

Air sealing and gap filling was aided by nearly 600 cubic metres of Alfas Bond FR gun applied expanding insulation foam as detailed in the Kingspan specification. On completion the building was air tested by HRS Services in accordance with the revised regulations and achieved an impressive pressure differential of 2.25m3/h/m2 @ 50 pascals.

The success enjoyed on Project Drake can be put down to the joint work of all parties involved right through from design stage to the final installation.The Kingspan approved fasteners and accessories supplied by QBM had a major role to play.
