In late October 2010 QBM were contacted by John Bond, Director of JRB Industrial & Agricultural Roofing, after viewing and advert in an edition of the RCI magazine. John began explaining that JRB had been successful in securing a refurbishment contract to replace fragile roof lights and aging gutters at Formula One Management, Biggin Hill, Kent. He also went on to tell QBM of his concerns for future maintenance of the building without a dedicated safety system and asked if QBM could help him install a Soter Safety System.
A meeting was arranged for later the same week and a design quickly drawn up and calculated for presentation to JRB’s client. At the same time QBM were able to offer JRB the opportunity of becoming an approved installer of our Soter Safety System. This was of great interest as safety is a subject very close to the heart of JRB, who already provides safety netting within their portfolio of services.
Following client approval and a subsequent site survey an installation date was agreed for the second week of November, which included the first phase of training for the JRB operatives in the safe and competent installation of the Soter safety restraint/arrest systems.
The 450 linear metre Soter system was installed over a two day period, a clear illustration of QBM’s ability to work swiftly with their customers. It has also provided with JRB Roofing another string to their bow, adding to their long term client appeal.
John commented, “having recently met and worked with QBM on this project we found the system, advice and on site workmanship 1st class. The training of our operatives allows JRB to provide our customers with a 1st class safety line system that we feel will complement our existing roofing services”.
