COMPOSITION:
Alfas C Seal is based upon a specialised polyester (polyurethane) foam carrier, the cellular structure of which is impregnated with an amalgam of neoprene and liquid plastic. The impregnated foam is adhered onto a self-adhesive backing which is protected by a release paper. The adhesive is provided to aid fixing.
APPLICATION:
The product is supplied in rolls pre-compressed by 85% of the expanded thickness. The material is unwound, the protective backing paper removed and the product is inserted into suitable gaps which retain the product under compression by 80%. C'seal is designed to provide an effective weatherproof seal which accommodates movement within the joint. Full instructions are provided within each carton supplied.
HEALTH & SAFETY:
There are no special hazards associated with the storage or handling of this product other than through misuse or mis-application.
INSTALLATION / FIRE:
Once installed, the material poses no abnormal health risks other than through misuse or in the case of fire where at sources in excess of 250 dg.c rapid decomposition occurs developing dense poisonous fumes which can cause a serious health hazard. The gases liberated affect the respiratory system and can cause asphyxiation.
The hazards are as follows:
1) At 300 dg c dense smoke and polymeric isocyanates are liberated.
2) At 800 dg c the smoke decomposes splitting off into hydrogen
cyanide and carbon monoxide as well as other nitrogen compounds.
3) At 1000 dg c substantial amounts of these toxic gases are given off.
IMPORTANT:
These products should not be inhaled or ingested. It should be noted that all chemical based products can affect persons of a sensitive or allergic nature and accordingly we would recommend the wearing of protective clothing including gloves and goggles as a precaution. Sensitive persons should avoid contact altogether. Always ensure that the application is appropriate for the product and that the product is applied strictly in accordance with directions for use.
