DESCRIPTION:
HMA is a one part, high modulus acetoxy cure silicone sealant which reacts with atmospheric moisture to form an elastic rubber-like seal with good weathering and UV resistance. The product is ideally suited to glazing and assembly joint applications and adheres readily to glass and glazed surfaces, some metals and many plastics.
STORAGE:
Store between +5 dg C and +25 dg C in dry conditions in original packaging . Shelf life approximately 12 months.
APPLICATION:
Priming is not required on glass and most glazed surfaces. Other surfaces should be tested to determine whether a primer is required. Please see separate Primer Requirements and Surface Preparation data sheet.
Surfaces must be clean, dry and free from contamination. If required, adjoining surfaces may be masked (masking tape should be removed within 5 minutes of applying the silicone). Deep joints should be filled with an approved material, such as Alfas Bond PU Foam. For movement joints use polyethylene backer rod to avoid three sided adhesion.
Cut the threaded end of the cartridge to expose the silicone and screw nozzle onto the cartridge. Load cartridge into application gun (skeleton gun), trim nozzle to required size and angle. Apply even pressure onto trigger and gun silicone firmly into the joint.
The silicone should be tooled (within 5 minutes of application) using a wet pallet knife or spatula.
