After initial installation, or for maintainance of access pipes the following procedures are recommended:-

1. Remove and thoroughly clean and dry the access hatch, screwed cover, plastic insert and rubber ringseal.

2. Apply silicone grease (Polypipe Code SG100) generously to the plastic insert, rubber ringseal and around the threads on the screwed cover.

3. Carefully re-assemble the parts and insert into the access hatch.

4. Hand tighten the screwed cover on to the hatch.

5. Tighten a further ¼ to ½ turn with an appropriate tool such as a flat bar or sturdy screwdriver, using the cross recess on the face of the screwed cover.

NB* The access covers are fitted for transit only, and are NOT delivered to site in accordance with the guidelines above.

Failure to carry out these recommendations may result in possible seepage from the access hatch.
